Google OAuth & User Data Policy
PustakLinu offers Google Sign-In as a secure, fast authentication method. When you sign in with Google:
Limited Scopes: We request only basic profile scopes: openid, email, and profile.
Purpose: Your Google user data is strictly utilized to authenticate your identity, create or link your PustakLinu account, and display your name on orders.
No Commercial Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or transfer your Google user data to data brokers, ad networks, or unauthorized third parties.
How We Use Your Information
- To enable students and book enthusiasts across Nepal to discover, buy, and sell used academic and literature books.
- To facilitate book orders, communicate delivery arrangements, and notify buyers/sellers of order status updates.
- To secure accounts, prevent duplicate listings or spam, and protect our community from fraud.
- To send important transactional notifications regarding purchases and order confirmations.
Data Security & Retention
All passwords on PustakLinu are irreversibly hashed with industry-standard bcrypt encryption. Communication between your browser and our server is secured with TLS/HTTPS encryption. Your personal data is stored securely and retained only for as long as your account is active or needed to fulfill book orders.
